Client: Idea Store Watney Market
Architect: Bisset Adams
Sector: Library
Scope Of Work: Complete Package; Systems, Loose and Library shelving
Project Summary:
This was a very important project because as well as providing library services, the Idea Store also needed to cater for council services.
At Rainbow we worked very closely with Bisset Adams because we had to continually value engineer the project as build costs increased and we still had to deliver the focus pieces into the budget – specific shelving was needed for its aesthetics, as well as the sophisticated designer seating range on the ground floor and children’s library area. Even with budgets tightened, we also took on the bespoke reception counter with glass separation panels and stone tops that needed to be constructed in a specific way so each section was separate, to enable us to remove the glass should it ever get damaged.
As well as these high cost items, we still needed to provide a large amount of good quality furniture throughout which met the architect’s design intent.
The project was a huge success and Rainbow achieved this on budget and on time.
